Kevin King
Founder / Creative Director
Project Lead
I have an unusual background for a creative director. Originally a pre-med student, I graduated with a degree in Economics from Northwestern University. After a series of disillusioning interviews with banks and consulting firms, I had a bit of an existential crisis—and then a breakthrough when I decided to choose another path entirely. With the help of the book What Color is Your Parachute, I rediscovered my true passion and pursued it: I became a designer. It was the best decision I ever made.
My career began in store design, launching the first in-store shop program in the United States with Marithé & François Girbaud, and then designing and developing the complete customer experience for the A|X Armani Exchange store concept with Giorgio Armani. I’ve also been creative director with two global advertising agencies—Lowe & Partners and J. Walter Thompson.
I have directed online and offline communications for American Express, Mondelēz, and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital; led brand development for several boutique investment firms; designed and launched a mobile app for Aroma Joe’s Coffee; and created a comprehensive product launch campaign for Ortho Clinical Diagnostics.
My key to success is my ability to integrate left- and right-brain thinking. I’m both strategic and creative, and I am very good at bridging worlds.
Fun Fact
I was drum major in a competitive marching band in high school.
