Introducing the Brand Explorator
Hi there!
Greetings from East Tennessee, the perfect place to reacclimate to life back in the States.
Over the past few months, I’ve been on a journey of rediscovery — both personal and professional. After six transformative years in Cape Town, I’ve returned to the US with fresh perspectives and a renewed approach to brand development:
The Brand Explorator.
In a world of explorers and digital nomads, I’m taking a more ancient and purposeful approach. The term “explorator” comes from Latin, referring to reconnaissance specialists who gathered intelligence and brought back valuable insights that others couldn’t access.
I’ve created a short series exploring this concept through both imagery and words:
Beyond Nomad
“Being an Explorator is not about technology or lifestyle, it’s about purpose and mission.”

How Explorators Find the Magic
“The true power of an Explorator isn’t in constantly seeking new horizons, but in the ability to shift perspective and reveal what’s already there.”
Read MoreThese posts highlight how the explorator approach enhances brand development by finding connections and opportunities that exist right now but often remain overlooked. This is where the magic happens: not in following conventions, but in recognizing what’s uniquely powerful about your brand in this moment.
Be Kind to Your Muse
I’ve also been reflecting on authenticity in our increasingly AI-driven world. In a recent LinkedIn article titled “Be Kind to Your Muse,” I explored how we might maintain genuine connections in a digital landscape where even simple interactions might not be what they seem. The surprise of discovering potentially AI-generated responses to a recent post led me to reconsider how we engage with both technology and creativity.

at a pivotal moment?
Every brand—and everyone—faces pivotal moments: times when fresh perspectives can reveal possibilities that aren’t visible from conventional viewpoints. If you or someone in your network is facing such a moment, I’d love to connect. Whether it’s repositioning for a changing market, evolving an established identity, or launching something entirely new, the Brand Explorator approach might be exactly what’s needed.
I look forward to connecting,
Kevin
