When I moved to Cape Town, I reluctantly had to leave behind many of my books. I thought I’d cleverly solved this dilemma by making a digital database of all the titles. But then my database got corrupted, and I lost everything.
For years, one book in particular nagged at me. I couldn’t remember its name, no matter how hard I tried.
Last night, on a whim, I decided to ask Claude AI for help. With just a few vague details from my memory, Claude did in minutes what I couldn’t do in years: it found the book!
The title? “Imajica” by Clive Barker.
I’m still cautious about AI and its potential risks. But I have to admit, finding this book would probably have been impossible without Claude’s help. It was a powerful reminder that AI can be a useful tool, even for very personal, human problems.
“Imajica” is one of the most impressive works of storytelling I’ve ever encountered. I can’t wait to dive back in and see how it holds up in today’s world.
What about you? Have you found yourself torn between concerns about AI and appreciation for its capabilities? Maybe you’ve had your own “aha” moment where AI unexpectedly solved a personal problem. I’d love to hear your experiences and thoughts on navigating this new terrain.
